Field Application Engineer - South East US

Responsibilities:

  • The Field Application Engineer will play a key role for injecting Sabanto’s products and technologies into new territories.
  • You will:
    • Work closely with our sales team to identify, contact, and visit prospective customers to measure their interest in trying out one of Sabanto’s demonstration systems.
    • Teach the customers, who take advantage of using a demonstration system, how to incorporate and use the system in their operation.
    • Host and conduct field demonstrations on customer farms and at public field day events.
    • Educate customers and dealers on how to integrate Sabanto’s technology into the customer’s operation.
    • Search for new Sabanto dealers.
    • Train dealers to assemble, install, and operate autonomy systems at dealer/customer sites across your territory.
    • Perform follow up visits to new customers to troubleshoot start-up issues and deliver additional coaching for how to accomplish their desired tasks.
    • Troubleshoot and repair existing autonomy systems at dealer/customer locations.
    • Understand and capture dealer/customer requests for new features and capabilities.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Ag or Mechanical Engineering, Ag Systems Technology, Ag Systems Management, or related experience.
  • Farming background
  • Experience operating agricultural equipment and precision agriculture technology.
  • Must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Must be comfortable demonstrating and explaining new technology to others.
  • Excellent analytical and decision making skills.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to work in a fast paced, high-pressure environment.
  • Able to install brackets, devices, and harnesses onto a vehicle.
  • Capability to learn and understand electrical and communication systems.
  • Experience operating agricultural equipment and precision agriculture technology.
  • Must be able to load and tow tractors and implements with a pickup truck and trailer.
  • Travel 75%, primarily domestic but could include international.

Location:

  • This position will be remotely located in Georgia, preferably on the outskirts of Atlanta.
  • Onboarding will consist of a 2 month co-working period with our Verification and Validation team to gain an understanding of the Sabanto autonomy system along with visits to prospective customers with our existing sales team. You will be temporarily based at Sabanto’s Iowa facilities during this period.
